These new Monsters are like 40 lbs heavier than the air cooled ones.

The cow pie scraper rear fender

Replace stock exhaust with Termi

Wheels would be the biggest upgrade.  You could probably drop around 10lbs by upgrading those.  Probably the most expensive upgrade too.  But, by far, the most noticeable upgrade.

Replace the battery with a lithium-ion battery.  Drop 6-7lbs there.

Exhaust will probably get you another 6-7lbs of weight reduction.

Other than the wheels you probably won't notice much of a difference in how the bike handles and feels.

And after all that they will still be 40 pounds heavier than someone that did that stuff to their air cooled bike.  [evil]

^ this is true. I'm sure you can reach a light weight if enough rescources are thrown at the project.
BST carbon wheels, and maybe the DP catalogue beckons.
As much  titanium and carbon parts posiible. Ti axels, exhausts and carbon mufflers, etc
Some may not be available yet, but will come.

It's a heavy looking design in appearance too, quite cruiser like.

Remove those plastic scoops & trim panels might make it a bit less heavy looking ...

Surprisingly tires can also make a difference.  One of the reason I decided to stick with the Rosso 2's was weight.  Sure want some shiny BST's though....

Going to have to wait a bit as I have a huge project underway that is fairly costly.

I'm on my 3rd set of Rosso IIs.  I've been pretty happy with them.

Has anyone found any product to do this? I want this to be the first major mod to keep my heels from splaying out, but I've not found anything made for the 821 yet.
