Anyone driven one?
My wife wants one, so we looked at one. I was thinking "boring Toyota" and "tarted up Camry", but thanks to Subaru, the motor and drive train will be interesting. I said, yeah yeah pop the hood and WTF! The hi compression (12.5:1) 2 litre boxer motor appears to be tuned. Oh yeah, checking the specs it's got a square 86mm by 86mm bore and stroke and it's rear wheel drive [clap]. Needs our 98RON fuel so I'm guessing 93-94 up there?
No wonder my wife wants me to have a new bike! [laugh]

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

Yeah I don't like Toyotas much, but I like the Subaru boxer motor. Thing revs to 7500, not bad. My wife is in love with the car so that just about settles it. I think the mortgage will be shot now :P [laugh].

Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

Cooper phooey. [cheeky]

A "proper" sports car should have at least 6 cylinders and rear drive. [thumbsup]

A while back a friend told me about that Subayota, here they're the Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S.
Said they were 2.0 liter 200HP rear-drive.
I looked at him as if he'd lost his mind.

I've not driven one.

I drove a first-year Cooper S in ~2004, pretty cool, but it was not stock, belonged to (I think) the founder or principal of the MiniManiacs.

My GF had a first-year Z3, just a 4-cylinder but it was a really fun car.

Then a Z4, had a 6 so more power, but it was an automatic and at least 500 lbs heavier, both of which pretty much ruined it.
That, and it came with runflats and rode like a dump truck.

A "proper" sports car should have at least 6 cylinders weigh less than 2000 lbs, be stick shift and rear drive. [thumbsup]

FIFY

"Sporty" is same as above, but 2001-3000 lbs.
"Sport GT" up to 3500 or so, beyond that it's "Sport Utility", as in SUV.

The BRZ is certainly on my list for my next cage. Bit more expensive then the 86 but better looking body kits available and less of em kicking around obviously! Have a chat to needles as he knows just about everything there is to know about both variants! There just not very equipped for the money their asking either!
09 M1100 + stuff.
07 GSXR750 stock as a......
15 KTM Freeride 250r for hurting myself!

All three are basically the same. Motor is by Subaru, the 86 isn't available in the states, but is sold as a Scion FRS. 200hp, 6 speed manual or tip tronic with paddles. They are all bad ass.  [evil]

Main let down was sliding pin calipers. :P Could have put some 4 pot Brembos on, or at least some Nissins. Sheesh.
Oh, could have been 2.5 or 3 litres, but then it wouldnt be an 86.

The subi version was on my short list prior to getting the mini. The dealer seemed to not like it and was talking up the wrx all the while telling me what a dog the brz was . the experience reminded me of how Harley hated selling Buells. That being said.....I really really like the styling.
