B 24.

B 17 didn't have nose gear, which you can see the doors for in the left side of that pic.

Still... cool pic and story.  [thumbsup]

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

Thanks guys.  Turns out it was a B-24D.  I know this because last night I was doing online research and found a comment from a random stranger on a website dedicated to finding graves (www.findagrave.com) that not only noted the plane but his squadron (330 BS, 93rd bomb Group).  I tried to figure out who this stranger was (maybe a former air force buddy) but it appears he was just some guy in England who liked to research military aircraft history.  His profile says that he passed away, so I don't have the chance to thank him.

Anyway, B-24 it is.  You DMFers are so f*ing smart.  Thanks!  [thumbsup]

Congrats to Cade and his fellow Highland High Tartens on winning the Valley Frosh/Soph championship.

Cade (lm's son) started the season as the backup quarterback, then became the starter after two games into the season. If I'm not mistaken, they won all of their games with him at the helm [thumbsup]
