How are you storing your "stuff" during rides when there's a need to take something with you? Do you simply do without, use a backpack, or do you have some saddlebags/pannier system that you use?

Dirty Duc

Depends on how much stuff.  I have a giant tank bag and a set of throw-over saddlebags that I mount on the tank.  S2R800...

Large backpack for day to day which is a medium rolltop from Roadrunner Bags as I was picking up groceries and packages quite often, which is waterproof. I had a similar bag that wasn't waterproof and only slightly larger that I loved as well from Vans for a few years before. I've carried a 15 case of beer and a few things once or twice, and a 23lb. turkey on another occasion. That kind of weight is dangerous to be attached to your back in my opinion but it was only a mile of backroads.

Then I use Ortlieb speed something soft saddlebags that are waterproof and have fit a growler in each side with some room to spare. They are removeable with buckle straps as i don't trust anything left on the bike that isn't bolted down (which is not still that hard to rip off).

I use a bungee straps for anything over the tail such as a duffel bag and have even carried a 4'x4'x4' box to the post office on my way into work. Just got a bungee cargo net to make this scenario easier.

I've been looking at a tank bag, but unless I find more things I need to carry, I don't need one.

M620 turned M800 but then back to M620 after the M800 died at 110k, and now to Multi 1000.

Ducati usually offers a saddle bag/soft pannier kit. So does Givi and maybe SW-Motech.

Any/most small/medium sized tail bags will work.

Tank bags.... yes, but always a problem when tanking and sometimes creates problems with movement - although some love to rest on them.

Backpack: Kriega!

I travel light and this is my ~16 liters for two week trips  [thumbsup]

Are these the ones from Ducati? It's hard to find photos as it seems not very many people have them.

I run a little SW Motec click-loc tan bag and when needed a tail pack of the same brand.  Usually though I just have my buddy follow me around.  He has much more storage on his FZ-1  ;D

No, but +/- the same principle - without the top box.

I saw the Ducati Monster side bags kit on youtube recently, but didn't save the link.

I have the Ducati Performance tank and tail bag combo.  Haven't used them both at the same time yet though.  For commuting I mostly use the tank bag.

Saw that some people are using these. I've never heard of that company before, but that looks like quality gear.

BTW, I suppose this thread should have been part of this one. Lots of good information.

I kinda built a mount on the side of my S2R1000 and set up a bag similar to the Ducati bag.
