Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

Only problem with that is windows 8.

Otherwise looks good.

So, I finally got around to ordering my build.

Board:  Asus M5A97 - USB 3.0, 6 SATA headers, Supports 32GB memory, up to 2133Mhz, 2 each of the various PCI slots
Processor:  AMD FX-8350, 8 cores, 4.0Ghz
Video:  Asus R7 260X
Memory:  8GB DDR3, 1600Mhz

Also ordered the basics, new case, 550W power supply, fans etc.

Reusing my existing hard drives, but will do a format & clean install of Windows 7 Pro on one.

Everything should be here by the end of the week it seems.

Looks like good stuff. How much all that set you back?

the_Journeyman

After tax and shipping, $600.  Went over my original budget, but it'll suit my needs for quite a while I'm thinking.

Should'a chipped in sooner.  Been building my own stuff for years.  Unless you are into gaming or video work the system you spec'd will be more than adequate.   [thumbsup]

Two things I don't do.  Keyboard bullies and hypocrites.
Feel free to PM me if needed, otherwise you will find me elsewhere.

Yup!  It's together physically, all I need to do now is put Win7 Pro on it.  I can't think of any reason I want Win8 unless anyone can give me a few.

You should put wondows 8 on there if you are full of self loathing and hate. Otherwise stick with 7.

Windows 8 is just awful.  Stick with Windows 7 for sure.

BTW-If you can swing it, pick up a SSD and load your operating system on that and use a HDD for storage.  SSD is so much faster than a hard drive so your system boots up much faster and programs open almost instantly.
