JJ

A little distraction took to me to the Ducati website,  [thumbsup] 1299S is out...did ya'll notice fun is much quicker...AKA...rpm's have come down on both HP and torque...Yippy! No worries, am still keep my beast. But,  [cheeky] [cheeky] [cheeky]  [drink]
Ride forever...

JJ

So, here's my foresight for people thinking of leaving "heavenly curvy roads" to "freeway to death" roads....When you land on this side, you dont ride much and end up doing things others adore you for...but, well...  [roll] :-\

1) Neighbor 1 found a lawnmover- self propelled lawnboy in a dumpster, motor was stuck...I tinkered at night and did some mending to head/pistons and it is running like a rocket.
2) Neighbor 2 was impressed and has me looking at a Vespa, oversized piston kit failed, so more tinkering future nights...
3) Neighbor 3 has a full time job hunting fossils... [popcorn]

[evil] yep, same JJ.
Ride forever...

JJ has got it right- tougher to enjoy riding in crowded areas with straight-line freeways and no changes in elevations. I gave up, riding here on Long Island & Metro NY and shipped my '01 out to ABQ. We'll be sending more time there anyway and I lost the desire to ride here.

Florida is a boring place to ride, though the Panhandle (around Psnsacola) with its proximity to Alabama is supposed to be interesting. The rest of the state is flat (highest point above sea level is about 430 ft. Even Long Island, a 120-mile long sand bar, has a high point of 435 ft.). South Florida is particularly dangerous, given the amount of senior citizens and the normally-poor-driving Florida natives. Good place for boating & fishing.

Happy Thanksgiving Guys and Gals! I want to have an indoor motorcycle show and tell type of thing at the bar I manage. I need about 20 bikes all together. We already have a few. Nothing special and I will buy you a burger for your trouble. It is a classic, vintage or iconic show. I was thinking if any of you had like an 851, 888, 916 or a special old guzzi, triumph, or scooter I could talk you into bringing it up for a day in late January. PM me for info or contact me at dscovill@buffalothunder.com.
I really would appreciate any help I can get. An old 2 smoke track bike anything would be cool.
the Superlight will be there whether it runs right or not.

Belated Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Hope everyone is happy & healthy. It's been cold here in NY, so we'll be setting our sights on Florida in a few weeks. I'll be out in Albuquerque this week to deal with some stuff, including the '01 Monster in my living room. I hope to see some of you while I'm out. (Barb's stuck in NY with work.)

I get in 11 PM Tuesday, leave midnight the following Monday. Any evening is good for me. I have 2 tings to get done while I'm in town: Get plates for the bike and finish the Murphy bed. You all know where to find me.

We are doing our indoor motorcycle show the 24th of January. It will be from 11 till 3 or 4. It is very informal and I am looking for Iconic, Antique or classic type bikes. Ones that changed things as far as looks or the industry. I even like old cool Vespas etc. I will buy the owner of the bike a burger and fries for lunch. We have 14 beers on tap. Just saying. It is at QBs in Pojoaque. That is just down the road from where we meet at the Chevron.
I have kind of been gone for about a week due to us losing our niece in an accident but am back on the forum.

I don't have a bike to bring, but if I break free...  It would be good to see some motos in the winter & meet you in person.

Sorry to hear about your niece...
