New S2R 800 on the way - few simple questions

Hey all, got a new (to us) 2005 S2R 800 Monster on the way for the wife this week, just got a few quick questions  ;D

One owner, full service history, around 55K km, in very good nick! Upgraded brakes on the front (S2R 1000 I think not 100%...) Termigioni c/f cans, few nice c/f bits. Need to get a RWC asap, already have some Metal Gear brake pads on the way, I'll flush the brake systems, replace the clutch fluid, oil & filter, etc.

Looking for a good place to source chain & sprockets locally? Melbourne preferably. Happy to order OS usually, but I'd like to get the RWC done ASAP.

Eventually I'd like to get some de-cat pipes, any recommended ones?

& what are the common mods for these? Is it worth doing the quick change sprocket setup? Looks a good thing, but might stretch the budget at this point...

Thanks in advance!

Edit: forgot to ask about rear stands: the Anderson Stands look good, if a little pricey, but I can get a pin to suit my VFR trackbike as well... Any other options for rear stands?

Congrats on the pick up.
I've been out of the Monster buying bits for a while, in the past I'd say you can visit the site sponsors listed down the left of the page. I found many retailers here are already adjusting their prices with the falling dollar, even though the stock they are selling might not have been bought at that rate.
I had a quick release carrier on my Monster but sort of found unless you were changing them on a regular basis it was kind of more bling than necessary.

As to exhaust recommendations, that's kind of like a what tyres should I buy next.
I'd say start with your big brands, Arrows, Akropovic, Terminogi. My personal favorite exhausts were/are MIVV.

As to what mods are the usual, again that is always personal preference really.
Some do a tail chop to adjust the asthetic look of the rear end, I did both of my Monsters.
Bar end mirrors are always a plus, many and various safety mods of billet and CF are always on the list. The seat is a good thing to address, the stock can be uncomfortable for some over a long day ride.
And yes Anderson stands are the most commonly bought stands especially for SSS bikes, just make sure yiu know if you want the three wheeled model which was a little wobbly in its first version. I think the new model has solved those issues.

Guys, I think it was the mid-pipe they are looking for.

Monster Parts (see the link to the left) should have one to suit.
Believe post content at your own risk.

Yeah, just the mid pipe to remove the cat, the Termi's will be staying, they just need to be a little louder  ;D

I'll have a look at Monster parts & the other sponsors.

I rang up the local Ducati shop for a quote on chain & sprockets, it was around $700 AU, even the guy there suggested I should get a quick change from the states, that way I can also go to a 520 chain. Sprocket centre seems to be the cheapest, might pay the extra for an AFAM version though...

If you need a set of fully adjustable Showas to replace your non adjustabales on your 800 hit me up.

The Termi's will be a bit louder and sound better just from getting rid of the cat.

Hi MV.
Get that front end sorted first...unless it's already been done.
Cheers.

Yah, stock 695/800 forks are... Lacking. Best upgrade I ever did to mine was superbike forks. Totally transformed the bike.
