696 headlight on early Monster

It's winter here in the Netherlands so it's mod-time.
I'm busy building a 696 headlight on to my '93 M900.
I know, not everybody likes the 696 headlight and it's mostly done the other way around.
There are quite a few 696 and up Monsters with an old, round headlight.
I'm probably not the first who does this but actually i've never seen pictures of an early Monster with a modern headlight.

Imho the new headlight looks great but i don't like the way it's mounted on the 696.
It's too close to the frontfork legs.
So first i 've machined a few aluminium holders which provide some extra room between the fork legs and the headlight.

to be continued..

Blasphemy  :D

Don't judge it untill you see it when it's finished. ;)
A small Koso tachometer comes on top of the headlight together with a homemade carbon flyscreen.
This is how it was:

The new set up will be in the same style but it will have a lower profile.

Not judging at all. It is a correct Monster after all.  ;)

Got me own headlight from a crashed 696!
The brackets that hold the standard tachometer are gone, instead of these there's a machined bracket which support the much smaller Koso tacho:

Now i 'm busy sorting out the wiring, anybody did this before...?

I'm not at all a fan of the later headlight, but I think your custom brackets are AWESOME!

Thnx for the nice compliments, too bad you won't see the brackets with the headlight and flyscreen in place.... ;D
I've pretty much sorted out the wiring except for the low fuel light. Best solution is probably a seperate fuel light.

@ Tim: i really like your SS-project! Very inspiring project. I'm planning a similar project.
