I'm from Milwaukee myself and every time the powers that be are attempting to pass a helmet law all the Harley riders circle the capital in Madison in protest.

Just my personal opinion, but they ride harleys.... wearing a helmet is a smart thing... why would THEY wear it?

I would feel as naked as if I jumped on the bike with no pants and no underwear on. In SC, about 2 hours ride from here, there is no helmet law, but I have no urge whatsoever to ride like that

LA

Never ride without it - ever.

No helmet law in SC, but we are just a few miles from Ga. and then into NC which do have helmet laws so all the Harley guys have to take a lid with em stopping to put them on st the state lines. ;D ;D

It is funny to see here.  I live in NC about 1 hr north of Myrtle Beach SC (SC doesn't have helmet laws).  The exit just after you cross the border into SC, there is a little pull-off that is littered with helmets.  I just can't bring myself to liberate a few to pay for my projects.
Of the good in you I can speak but not of evil.  For what is evil but good tortured by its own hunger and thirst.

Ironic, I rode for years without a helmet. Of course I was a drunk retard for most of those years. I sobered up and realized I had more to live for and now I won't ride 3 blocks without on. If it's to short of a ride for me to put my helmet on I usually just ride my bicycle.

i ride with t shirts when im picking up a date, because i know ill be civil with a passenger and riding in NYC gives you a 6th sense of traffic danger after a while.

Er....do you put gear on the passenger...?
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

I rode around the block a couple times in AZ with no helmet on.  It didnt seem as free and amazing as people try to pretend.  The one thing I did notice is that I feel more uncomfortable with no gloves on than I do with no helmet.

Its long explination, but i rarely give rides to anyone. I only have 2 steady riders, and they started out with full gear. Now im okay with helmet, gloves, long pants and anything that isnt crazy for footwear, ie. no flipflops heels. Its usually just a local ride around town. I dont think id ever ride 2 up on the highway. Im just not comfortable with that. plus i cant inmagine it being comfortable for 2 people for too much time.

Okie law states that a rider under 18 has to wear a helmet, above that no restrictions.

HI is similar. for licensed riders.

permit riders of any age have to wear full PPE (not that jeans, long-sleeve t shirt, garden gloves, and sneaks count as PPE)

but really, that's uniforcable, until the cop pulls you over for wheelies or checks your ID while scraping you off the pavement  [roll]

+1 I have the same experience - riding without gloves feels way too weird. I think I've gotten so used to how they restrict movement.
Hi-ho-hi-ho....its off to the track I go.................

I have been to plenty of states with no helmet laws, I still wore one.

There are plenty of brothels in the world that have no condom laws...
That doesn't mean I am going to bet my life that every other asshole has their shit together, after all you are sharing the same space with a lot of assholes, same applies to riding. The helmet just makes sense.

Some times I wear a condom while riding too, I just think it looks cool.

Randimus Maximus

I'm not required to wear a helmet here in Colorado (not sure how the law is worded).

But I wear mine, no matter what.
