nice warm weekend! hit la luz a few times, met a nice newbie couple out riding, then ran into a pack of moron squids bouncing rev limiters on their 600's. NO ONE was waving back. I figure its that "first warm weekend so all the fair weather tough guys are out" syndrome.

I'll bite....where is "La Luz"?  I know La Luz trail, but no bikes allowed there.

Riding dirt Sunday this weekend.  Kim and Jaime from Santa Fe are coming down.  Who's in?!?   [Dolph]
Never appeal to a man's "better nature."  He may not have one.  Invoking his self-interest gives you more leverage.  R.A. Heinlein

Still looking for a dirt bike for a shorty  ;D
The one I was ready to buy couldn't be lowered  >:(

Just get a 250 or 350 and let's ride.  I'm certain that either makes plenty of power for the riding we do, especially with your somewhat...hm....lower weight (compared to me).  I rode with a guy on an 80cc two-stroke a few weeks ago and he led the way down in the Puerco!

A 250cc 2-stroke would be an awesome rocket & easy to maintain.. [thumbsup] ;D I rode a little 150cc 2-stroke and it scared me good! [Dolph]

Dunno about 2 or 4 stroke, here's few cheap, am sure negotiable and you dont have to worry beating them up!  ;D

Thanks for the info JJ.  [thumbsup]
Massimo, Scott's riding buddy, recommended a Yamaha TT-R230 due to the 4 inch lower seat height.
I'll continue looking for 250 to 350 cc machines with ~34 inch seat height or less.
Looks like the TTR 230 and the Honda CRF 230 are on my shopping list.
I will be in the dirt soon  ;D [clap]

BTW, here are a couple of pretty cool sites if you are looking for dirt bikes by criteria:  http://www.bikefinds.com/ and http://dirt-bikes.axlegeeks.com/

BTW, 34 inches seem a bit tall for me as well! Is there a technical reason for dirt bikes to be tall on seat height...shouldn't have anything to do with suspension travel.  Can ride height not be adjusted and suspension travel be more innovative? There's got to be some interesting thoughts out there to engineer mount points and frame.
