Yes.  There are a few things about the Monster that seem like they just need to be there to scream Monster.  The beer tray and the side covers included.  I thought the beer tray needed some help so I found a shorter one without the turn signal mounts but it is still there.  The side covers have been there since day one and will remain - they serve a purpose to cover some warts underneath on my bike.

Yep even the beer tray grew on me...but NOT in it's OE form. The shortened carbon one or the Roadracing one look perfect. Plus it gives you a place to mount luggage for long trips. Still don't regret chopping the tail but I may not do it again if I had a do-over. It still looks awesome chopped.

Buuuut...side covers look better with a non-chopped tail...side covers plus a tail chop is a bit weird.

Decisions, decisions...maybe I can have a pair of flat carbon or alloy ones made. Non bulbous carbon side covers would be sweet.

Or I could buy the 1198 I been lusting for and go crazy on the 748 I have...

side panels and tail chop were the first two things I modded when I first picked up the bike, 13 years ago.

I've never regretted the side panels, but rainy days have left me regretting the tail chop many times.

I like no side panels. The naked bike likes being more naked.

Thanks for the replies and especially the pics ya'll! this is sort of reinforcing the; "chopped tail - no side covers - non chopped tail - side covers" theory.

I like the chopped tail with side covers but I'm partial to the ones I have.

thread jack, sorry Rmsky :
MotorPsycho- nice bike! Your side covers look aftermarket.

What wheels are those and what work was required to fit them? Did you post about that yet?   999?  Does the speedo work?
