I just traded in the jeep for a pickup so i guess all i need is a good ramp

Greg

I just stick mine in the back of the pickup. I'd rather use a trailer, but my F'ing HOA won't let me keep a trailer outside and I'm not going to put the trailer in the garage and park the truck outside. I looked into one of the folding trailers but I'm just too damn cheap to spend $2,000 on a trailer.

The folding 4X8 Harbor Freight trailers are fantastic and nowhere near $2000. I think I paid $300-ish for mine. Assembled it with loc-tite and a 1/2" treated plywood, packed the wheel bearings with fresh grease and it was good to go. I did a cross country tour hauling it with a van I had at the time; 2 motorcycles, big steel box, bunch of camping supplies etc etc. It was solid and towed great. When I sold it before moving into an apt I was able to get more than I paid for it after having it on Craigslist for one day. I've owned similar ones that cost $1000-$1500 and they were literally the same exact trailer. I really can't recommend those HF trailers enough.

Mr Earl

Harbor Freight wheel chock bolted into a 4x6 utility trailer.  Hauled the Monster and 2 Aprilias (not all at once) in total security.  I'm afraid of the HF trailers b/c of the small-diameter wheels.  My utility trailer runs on 15" wheels w/29" tires, and full-size wheel bearings.

It's nice to know that if things get really tight I can go buy a Rabbit and put a bike in the back!  Great pic!

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Any advice on tying down a monster in the back of a pickup?     actually have two bikes I'd like to throw back there, but finding advice on Google is a pain in the butt.. Do I, or don't need a wheel chock?  Tie down in handle bars or frame.. Etc

I deliver bikes by van for two Ducati stores and use front wheel chocks and tie down straps one each side to the rear of the bike plus another two at the front but never compress the forks as I've see to many blown seals.

Using this method I've driven 40,000miles this last 12 months delivering bikes in the UK without problems and been to the last 4 WDW events at Misano by van with bikes in the back.

btw you meet some of the nicest members of this forum in Misano... ;) ;)

Thanks for the advice ..  That's part of the difference, to compress or not to... Worst case I'm fully covered so I guess if just get another one. Lol.  but definitely going with a chock
