Nothing mentioned, very short message from their email list.  When they close their doors Saturday, they're done.

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

It is, they were a good dealership.  I had noticed they were stocking less and less clothes and accessory type stuff.

Article on Ducati sales flat-lining:

A bit misleading, since they are flat-lining at all-time highs, so it's not like business is bad.  But often when this happens in any industry distribution (eg dealerships) is established in anticipation of growth that never comes.

How long had your dealer been open?

From what I've seen, the majority of reasons for businesses closing have nothing to do with the market they're in.

And sometimes people are done working, and retire.

Or fold up their tent to go play a different game.

If it's the one I believe it is the founder died about 10 years ago and I'm guessing family has run it since.

Maybe they got tired of it.

Yea, years ago (80s and earlier) it was an Auto Shop that serviced Triumphs.  In the late 80s or early 90s he started selling motorcycles.  For a long time, into the early 2000s, it was Ducati, Husky, Moto Guzzi and Triumph.  They dropped Moto Guzzi and Husky mid 2000s and did some really nice expansions and what not.  They were always a good dealership, I hate to see them go.  They're having a "cost and below sale" between now and close on Saturday.  I'll probably stop in, but it will be a little depressing.

There's some interesting info on the About us page of the website. It sounded like he was a real gearhead.
