I have a garmin Street pilot 2720 that had had the outer "skin" on the screen dry up and flake off. The touch screen still works but not as well.

Would this fix it?

The alternative is another unit off eBay for $50ish but then id have to figure out how to transfer all my addresses or do it by hand...

I'm pretty much leaning towards that.

Mine has probably 30k miles on a bike, in the sun.

Which is what I think toasted the screen. UV rays and rain
