Threads like this + me just ordering a welder = eventual more threads like this just likely with scarier pictures, maybe even fire.

More progress-they're almost done with the wheel wells. After that I have to pick it upa nd tackle the rocker panels myself.

I find the aspect of doing the rockers intimidating.

At some point I lost all confidence in my own ability to accomplish anything. A mental block with no basis-I've built no end of things with no issues yet, here I am, scared to cut off a piece of sheet metal and weld an identical new one in it's place. I got nothing, really.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Next up is working on the hood/cowl gap. Right now you could park a motorbike in that make the beast with two backsing thing it's so big. Baxley was probably inspired by the hood on this car.

Apparently the way to fix that was new hinges:

Work has only recently begun again because my thyroid meds were apparently made wrong and just stopped working. Took a while to figure out.

The real issue isn't so much that I end up tired-I'm always tired. If I have more energy one day I just do more until I end up worn out again. No, a mental fog envelops me and I can sort of...watch it happen. My ability to think beings to fail and it's absolutely horrifying to watch oneself lose their own brain. Hopefully this won't happen much, if ever again-it's downright depressing.

While in the throes of my weakness the shop with my Chrysler said "anything else?". I sold one of the vehicles here and told 'em to do the rockers. Not sure if it was the mental state or the 5 hours/week I manage (at best) to get things done in, but I want it done, and I know they'll knock it out properly.

Moving on.

The leading edge of the door is slightly fubar. The fender is too, but that's been replaced.

Building it up with weld:

Fender exteriors are done, might as well get the interiors cleaned up:

Trunk lid-outer skin is intact. Inner skin rotted away where they meet:

I don't trust the B-pillars to support a shoulder harness and I feel it should have 'em.

Decided against the roll bar and went with a bunch of seats that have the belts integrated.

That's been accounted for  ;)

Some idiot came across an old straight 6 ford 200 with the right automatic transmission for the parts car. So of course I bought it, because why not build 2?

Especially when the motor is a whopping $100.  :P
