ok so kinda crazy story.

the other night while i was sleeping i was having a dream where i was playing soccer and i took a guy down. when we hit the ground the guy hit me in my side, so i turned around and punched him in the face. well as soon as that happened i woke up from my dream to the sound of someone getting hit in the face and my girlfriend screamed and started crying. as soon as i woke up i knew what had happened, just as i had hit the guy in my dream i actually hit my girlfriend in the face with a closed fist in my freakin sleep!!!

we can laugh about it now together but it really freaked me out that that happened... i mean i could have broke her nose or something. and i find it crazy that out off all the room on the bed and all the space around me that i could have hit, i got her right on the nose and mouth.....

just thought id share. anyone ever have anything similar happen???

Sometimes my legs get twitchy as I fall asleep.  I kicked Duke out of bed once.

Is that the same?

P.S. He now sleeps at a distance...

no, I'm never asleep in bed with your girlfriend...

No, I didn't just say that, move along....    No reason to punch me in the face "while you are asleep"

I did have a weird thing happen right after my smokin' hot wife ( then she was still just my smokin' hot girlfriend ) moved in.  I woke up at like 3am, and was just watching her sleep, basking in her beauty, the warmth of our still-new relationship, etc..  When she slowly opened her eyes, and as she focused in on me looking at her, she screamed at the top of her lungs.  Apparently, it can be disconcerting to wake up from a deep sleep with someone staring at you...

LOL!!! [laugh]

I haven't physically hit my wife while I'm asleep, but she does say that I laugh all the time in my sleep. ;D Guess that's a good thing.

She also has that weird habit of staring at me while I'm asleep. It is creepy to wake up with someone staring at you. :o

I have an Uncle that sleep walks. Once while we were in Minnesota, he was in the kitchen eating dry cereals from the box at midnight. I actually had a conversation with him as he was walking around the kitchen dropping cereals everywhere. I thought he was just really tired due to his actions and didn't really think anything of it. The next morning, he was wondering why he had cereals down his shirt and in his bed. I couldn't stop laughing when we realized he was actually sleepwalking. I understand stress will do that to you. At the time, his only daughter (18yrs old at the time)  was being treated for  Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. She has recovered very well since then and I don't think he sleep walks anymore.

I've been known to sleepwalk occasionally.  When I was about 15 years old, I left the house one night and made it a few blocks up the street before I snapped out of it.  I got to a friend of mine's house and was just about to bang on his door at 3 in the morning when I woke up and sprinted home ( I was kinda freaked... like wtf is going on? ).  That was the only time anything crazy like that happened, but I have done the kitchen thing a handful of times.

How did you explain driving over to her place, breaking in, and climbing up on the headboard?I would think the "I had a nightmare" excuse only got you so far..

I had a similar experience last week.  Don't remember the dream, but I was being threatened and I hit as hard as a could.  At that moment I woke up (face down) thrusting my fist into the mattress.  The white ball of fluff known as the family dog was sleeping about 4 inched from my fist.  She didn't even wake up.  Had she been closer we'd be looking for a new dog now.   :o

It's no big deal dude!  I wake up to find my wife hitting me all the time.  Is it weird if she was awake too?

I see adds for this on tv all the time.  You don't have to live with RLS anymore, they have treatment now.

Some ways RLS patients describe their condition:
I feel fidgety
It’s like creepy-crawly bugs crawling under my skin
I have an irresistible urge to move my legs
Tingling
Tugging
It gets worse when I rest or lie down
It is worse at night when I really want to sleep
I have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep
I get twitching and jerking of my legs
Moving my legs gives me relief

*Disclaimer*

MIRAPEX may cause you to fall asleep without any warning, even while doing normal daily activities, such as driving. When taking MIRAPEX, hallucinations may occur and sometimes you may feel dizzy, sweaty or nauseated upon standing up. The most common side effects in clinical trials for RLS were nausea, headache, and tiredness. You should talk with your doctor if you experience these problems.

I think the dude in your avatar could benefit from some Mirapex.
