No experience with Metuchen but are you sure you want to ride to Northern NJ.  ???  ;D Isn't that a Kawasaki dealership?  8) Maybe they are wonderful. I'd ask somebody local though.

Ferracci only sells and works on Italian machines. I'd guess they'd be more sympathetic to your needs but it's been eons since I last did business with Eraldo. Your call. Maybe his son, Larry, runs the place now? No clue.

Did you ever fit a 14T front sprocket? It's cheap and they could do that for you too. Just be sure to get the right one as it only fits the M796 and Hyper 796, Driven Racing #1067-525-14T.

Cross County in Metuchen has been selling and servicing Ducatis for...probably a decade or more.

What Curmudgeon said.
I have Rizoma bar and knee or tank pad on my bike. They make the bike really comfortable. The rizoma bar, since it's a bit narrower than stock bar will make steering (turning the bar at slow speed) feels heavier.  When I first rode it after installing the bar, I thought I had a flat tire...cause it's heavier to turn the handlebar... but the Rizoma bar makes the bike really comfortable.

Thanks guys
I have not had the sprocket changed.
I think I will go to Ferraci and get it all done in one go.
I don't want to be away from my Monster for too long  ;D

Hmmm... A slightly higher Rizoma bar costs little more than risers and has more sweep which is much kinder on your wrists!  8) (You'll have to drill the locating holes for the controls.)
Yes, and not having to drill locating holes for the controls.....  is... a bit less hassle.

Just sayin'.

Risers on stock bars do nothing to address the lack of sweep and uncomfortable wrist angle.  ;) The Rizoma in silver looks stock but also has a much nicer finish and transmits less vibration than the stocker tapered bar. YMMV...

Ferracci has had the franchise since 1991 when Eraldo was doing the World Superbike 851's and 888's for the factory. Hope they are still that good.

When you call, to save confusion, give them the exact part numbers I supplied in this thread. Sh*t happens.  ;) You should also be there when the bar is fitted so that you can sit on the bike and have the controls and mirrors positioned the way you like. That will save drilling twice!  ;D Even MY very expert dealer made that error first time!

No idea whether they can do the Tech Spec pads like mine, but if you're interested in those and they are familiar, mention those as well. Those are really good but a bit fussy to install.

OP didn't seek advice about uncomfortable wrist angle, just higher bars.

The cost of risers here is about the same as the Rizoma bar. Down there it might be different. Labor to install along with slight re-routing of lines/cables is also roughly equal. The wrist angle is much more comfortable vs stock as is the finish nicer, not to mention the slightly less vibration. The OP is after greater comfort. I read all his earlier posts.  ;D

What's comfortable for one might not be for another.

Goes for gear, furniture, and moto mods.

This one is pretty much a no-brainer though.  ;) Ask sponsor Geoff at Monsterparts. He doesn't offer the higher MA008A however. http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/MA005/Bars-Mirrors/MA005.html

Who asked about comfortable make the beast with two backsing wrist angle and/or finish, not to mention never a mention about vibration?

Ah, so you have greater insight?  Silly make the beast with two backsing me.  You may be correct in all that you say.  The OP may even benefit from the comfort of hemorrhoid cream, but in this thread - the thread in which I'm contributing - the criteria mentioned was higher bars.

Thanks for all the input.
You boys just went off  :).
The Metuchen dealer is having an open house tomorrow so I go there and check out the bars and find out the costs.
I installed a footpeg lowering kit and will be getting the touring seat tomorrow, let see if the comfort factor increases

Sounds like a plan. It's an international community here, so lots of teasing in good fun!

If they have the MA008A bar, you can hold it over the stock bar and you'll see what's what.

The touring seat is an improvement but not the holy grail. Have them pop one on the bike and sit on it. Takes seconds to switch. See what you think. Of course, if it doesn't work, you can always sell it here. http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/96787702B/Comfort-Touring/96787702B.html

More expensive but taller and flatter is the Sargent seat you saw on my 796 and many here swear by them. Your bike, so your call.  ;) Sargent has their own dedicated pan and sandwich foam technology. http://www.sargentcycle.com/Seats-Accessories/Ducati-Monster-Reg-No-Heat/Black-WS-608-19.html BTW, Sargent has a 30-day money back guarantee; you pay the shipping both ways of course.

If I were driving to Metuchen on a Saturday..., I'd probably drive an armored SUV.  ;D But you probably already know this. Just watch the idiots!
