Thanks. It works slow like its geared wrong or slipping. I switched from kmh to mph speedo, could that be issue?

I wouldn't think switching from Kmh to Mph should make a difference.

I had to switch my ST4 speedo from Mph to Kmh when I bought it in the states and brought it north of the border. I rode it for a couple weeks with the Mph speedo before the swap and I noticed no difference.

Would you mind expanding on the 848 low projector beam swap?

I'm curious what it entails and how much improvement it is over stock?

Straignt swap, even used st2 cut off piece, the connector is bigger so you need to make room for it in the dust cover, I just cut up the harness side to flatten it. Also for the 98 I have the front speedo cable, which may or may not be an issue at this point. Honestly cant compare cause I cant remember the look before. Put an 848 next to your st2 and compare. Its a more robust lamp I know that.. the other issue is of course cutting up an 848 lamp assembly to get projectoe. Inhave the high beam available which I think is the same minus the cutoff.

Rode first time at night, 848 light is bright and good pattern.

Finally figured out fuel tank leak, overfill hose on incorrectly.

Ok, decided to open the air  box a bit. Cut a hole in the front above the 2 snorkels effectively tripling the front opening and keeping back to still direct air down into the filter. Wow what a diff. Intake growl is cool, power boost is even  better

Cool.
From articles/dyno tests I've read, that certainly seems to remove an obstruction to breathing. It's a decent sized looking airbox from your pics.

Been riding the st2 for awhile now. Got back on the monster now with bars and slowr throttle cam... I out did myself. 696 is so tiny and weak, if I could get st2 suspension dialed in better,... its heavy but it just goes like stink with open box, k&n filter, dp chip and new exhaust.
