So the wife and I are consolidating.
Traded in the BMW on the following and sold her car outright. She works from home and has groceries delivered. If she needs to go anywhere, she usually takes her bike and if she needs 4 wheels, then I can take my bike. So it all works out.
After all was said and done, we cut our car payment by $228/month, insurance by $75/month and using the cash from her car, we paid off all except for one of our revolving credit accounts (credit cards, furniture, etc). So now we have one credit card that carries a balance and virtually all of our non-car or house debt paid off.

And all while gaining a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit with a Hemi...
The idea here is we keep the luxury (and then some) of the Bimmer, the hauling capacity (and then some) of her Scion and gain trailer towing capabilities we didn't have before (we are purchasing a 12-14ft enclosed aluminum trailed in the spring using annual bonus money so we can purchase outright).

Meet Jasmine. My fiery auburn haired minx!

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

Handling is pretty close to the 535 until you get really aggressive.
Just drove from Des Moines to Kansas City for the weekend and the highway manners were fantastic. Problem is, 90+ is scary smooth.  ;D

And here I clicked on this thread thinking you got a Jeep.

While it might have 7 grille slats, a Jeep it certainly is not. :P

Nonetheless, that's a pretty sweet ride!    [thumbsup]

We've got a 2012 Limited GC (wife's) and we love it. Just enough luxury (heated leather memory seats, sat/Nav, enough auto features etc.) but combined with foul weather, off-road, and towing capabilities.

It's been comfortable, tough, and reliable for the 4 years and 42k we've had it so far.

Most of our off-road use had been beaches and dunes in the OBX where it's had no problems even in the deep sand dune crossings getting in and out of the beach house.

Suspension is more comfort than stiff, so it's got a little body roll.

Years back I had a new 99 GC, I think that was a WJ, which was notably smaller, lighter, and more car-like in handling. But the current ML-derived WK2 isn't bad for a 2.5 ton SUV.

Anyway, grats, and enjoy.

Oh it will go over Engineer Pass the next time I am Ouray. I wouldn't have minded a Wrangler with a Ripp supercharged 3.6...but the Wrangler "quirks" turned me off.

Shiny!

The rear.....does it have drums?
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Kev M

No drums... No good reason for drums on this application and the discs are stout.
