I bought some gloves...if i dont get a call from them monday, im going to be pissed since i have no gloves right now. Joe rocket sucks, they ripped from the palm all the way to the backhand.

He Man,
I've got a back-up pair of old Olympia vented gloves w/ CF knuckles.  If you are in a pinch, you can borrow them for a couple of weeks.

OwnyTony

DHeLL Sucks Donkey balls.  I am a UPS man myself.  Fedex is HQed where I live but still use UPS.  I guess it depends on where you live.  Both UPS and Fedex have nice sized hubs in Memphis and that makes a big difference in how fast you are able to ship things out and receive inbound packages.

The only shipper I've never had problems with is UPS. FEDEX takes wayyyy to long. My DHL experience , I ordered some parts (small) for one of my pinball machines, It never came but they said they delivered. I called the shipper and they resent again @ their cost VIA UPS. Two days after UPS got it to me I noticed something strange in my gutter. Yep you guessed it , the Lazy bastard drove up my  driveway and was too lazy to get out and tossed it!!!!!!!!!!!! I was furious . I will pay xtra not to have DHL send me anything.

Cdwag, I might have to take up on that offer i need to get the bike to goldcoast on the 5th to repair my heads. Loose valve guides and a pretty bad oil leak that has my whole rear cyliner covered in oil and road grime.  [bang]

I remembed i had 1 experience with DHL, i had my laptop repaired by dell and they sent it back to me. I looked online and some one with a unreadable name signed it. I called DHL, they were going to send the driver back to ID the person he left it with. I spoke with him on the phone, and the driver said, he left it with an asian person who lives at my house. The driver never showed up. After 3 days, my mom is walking up the block, about 150 feet from my house (i live in the city, so thats like 10 houses in between) and notices this package sitting on the floor of this house that was being renovated. The guys were chinese ( i am as well)

IT WAS MY DHL PACKAGE!

I dont know how the make the beast with two backs it happened, but you dont just drive 10 houses up and leave it with anyone that looks asian by name. After talking with the guy who signed for my package ( he didnt speak english and had no idea what was going on) he said, the guy gave it to me, so i signed for it. I just work here, so i thought it was the homeowners.  I called again to make the beast with two backs with the DHL guys and tried to get the driver to come back, but they kept giving excuses.

Strange how i blocked that memory out until now  ???

Anyway, i called fedex again, they are closed on mondays (in reno atleast). The guy said, it might come tomorrrow, and when i asked him what happened to the pacakge, they said they dont know, its still in transit, it usually takes 3-5 days for fedex ground. I said to him, "it takes 5 days to drive a truck from reno to ny with no stops in between? are you sure the truck didnt get hijacked by street pirates?" he stoped talking to me.  :P. So after tomorrow, if there is no update, on the website, or after i call them, im just going to fly down to reno and kill everyone i see. [wine] (thats blood btw)

Let me just put it this way, to the guys who dont like my excessive jokes. ITS JUST A JOKE. im not goign to kill everyone i see......just the fedex guys. =D

ive had problems with EVERY shipping company out there.

fedex lost a carb and intake manifold for my car the first stop.  ups lost car parts (dont remember which one anymore)

dhl charged me for overnight express for a car tranny shipped from cali to texas.  i got the quote from them as $50 and got it sent ground and they charged me $350 and it took longer than if it was shipped ground.

usps sent something back to cali 3 times because the "address did not exist" even though we had mail in the mailbox with that address on it the day i talked to them, and we still get mail with that address.

ive also had issues with getting money from fedex.  my shop shipped something cod to someone and it was 300.  they gave the driver a check for 298 and $2 cash.  we got a check for the $2 but never saw the rest.

Oh heres one that just happened today.

I sued someone out of state in Greensboro NC.
Just got back the certified mail,RR. "RETURNED"

I checked the address via google mail, it does indeed exists. Now does that person not live there? Becasue i will have to kill that pregnant dog also. She owns a car registered in North Carolina, that was driven by a guy from Washington State, who ran a stop sign in NY, and hit my pops car.

Funny thing? Im going to Greensboro NC after my bike is fixed up. Im going to pay that pregnant dog a visit while im there.

im just angry as hell today aren't I?

I work for UPS as a driver, and have had stuff shipped to me and have used other shippers (except DHL) and at times have had problems with all of them.  :-\

Once I bought a used Monster tank on eBay and had it shipped UPS, I was home the day of delivery and kept track of when the driver usually delivered to my house.  The regular driver in my area is great, he always left the packages on my coverered patio, not on the exposed front door, but he wasn't working the day my tank arrived. :'(

I tracked the package, and it was reported as delivered, but no tank sized package was anywhere at my house. >:(

I called the 800 number to file a complaint ("concern" in UPS speak), and the contract worker at the 800 call center gave me the standard run around until I told them I work for UPS and that the package was not at my house. 8)  Finally I was put in touch with the local center for my area and talked to the On Road Supervisor for the route that covers my house.  Again they tried the standard line of "check around your house and neighbor's house", but once I let them know I was a UPS Driver, they got right on the ball. [roll]

When the delivery driver returned to the building, they downloaded the info from his DIAD, and called me back.  The tank was delivered 5 houses away. :o  I was a bit pissed, but I got the package and everything was fine.  This was a couple of years ago, and the tracking capabilities of the DIADs and software now are more up to the minute.  I beleive that you can find the location of a package to within the latest 30 minute window now, as to where it is and when it will be delivered.

Now the DIAD will flash an error message if the driver is not at the correct delivery address when they scan the package.  GPS technology at work.  But I've found there's a fairly large area that's considered the "correct" address, sometimes up to a 1/4 mile. :o

How do you make the beast with two backs up a delivery address though? Youd have to delibertly walk to a different building, and leave it there. Thats called negligence.

If the sticker says 230 18th street, YOU DELIVERY IT TO 230 18th street, NOT 240 18th street. If it was hand written and unreadable, it would be a different story.

Considering that UPS is all about volume and production numbers, and that they cram as much work possible on the drivers that they can, it's fairly easy if you're in a rush, and we usually are, to grab the wrong package for the wrong address.

With the newer software & equipment, the entire route's worth of packages/stops is downloaded before we leave the building.  So if you scan a package for a stop that's not the correct package for that stop it will flash an error message.  But that really only works if there's more than one package for that stop.  If there's one package, and it's on the correct route, and near the correct address, and the driver is in a hurry and doesn't actually look at the DIAD, and just goes by the audio cues, you can deliver a package to the wrong address, all the while thinking it's the correct one.  Not so much as willfull negligence, but the effect of being in a rush and thinking 2-3 stops ahead.

Hey, once it's delivered, that's one less package/stop to worry about.  8)

UPS keeps upgrading the equipment and process to help eliminate errors, but with humans involved, things will still get misdelivered and lost. :'(

Jeez, if they didnt rush the drivers things would be more accurate. But i guess in a cost wise world, havin 3 unhappy customers is better than having 50 undelivered packages right?
