Now I know it is Australian to 'take the piss' ... and that some of you guys have a particularly weird way of showing your affection for one another ... but c'mon you're not twelve anymore.

Continually rebelling or antagonising the 'authorities' may have been 'cool' when you were at school ... but that was a very long time ago for most of us - and I would hope that if your kids (or grandkids) were carrying on like that you would pull them into line too. Being a smart arse is OK to a point (admittedly I cross that line all the time) ... but it is a bit sad to think of grown men giggling over their computer screens about how 'clever' they were to say a rude word without actually saying a rude word (for example).

By all means, have a bit of fun and a laugh ... but it is probably time to grow up a little - before this place is ruined.

I wonder how many feel likewise? I suspect there may be quite a number.

Perhaps the kind of primary school behavior that's been going on here for a while, is why it's been quiet in here for so long?

People like yourself and Jukie, even though you may like the protagonists, might have found this forum a tricky place to navigate with such school yard antics!

The time for a paradigm shift, a fresh start, turning over a new leaf, so to speak is upon us. ðŸ'ðŸ»

Perhaps a few older members who were Jack of it will return, and the place will become mature enough to see new members join, stay and actually enjoy frequenting this forum.

I assume you were talking about the story time thread ... which is full of childish innuendo. But the point is that it is contained to the one thread and easily avoided (I'm sure most do).

The problem is that the bullshit banter amongst a small group seems to find its way into practically every thread/discussion. Some of us don't worry about it assuming that no real harm is done and that it is just mates taking the piss out of one another (and generally not dragging others into the personal attacks).

But over (what seems like the last couple of years) I have had people PM me, email me or tell me in person that:

• they don't get 'it' (the personal attacks)
• think that it discourages people from joining
• withdraw their own participation
• find it intimidating
• are just sick of it
• think it is why the forum has stagnated over the last couple of years

By all means continue to do as you please ... tread the thin line and antagonise people (including the mods) ... taking the consequences come what may. Or as Brian suggested it could be taken to Facebook where it may be more readily accepted.

I am happy to chat with any of you guys about it (PM, off-line, when we next meet or publicly on the forum if you wish). But please don't pretend that you don't know what people are upset about and claim your innocence ... after all I have had each of the protagonists 'pregnant dog to me' at some point about something one of their mates has posted.

You are amongst the small group who are out of line here, who I've asked to please modify your behaviour a little for the benefit of the rest of us.  I have no interest in what may or may not be poor behaviour on other boards.  When you're called out, please just accept that it's YOU and drop the juvenile whining about "but others are not playing nice either.... why you picking on me...."   Bad behaviour elsewhere is no justification for yours.

If you have issues with what you see as rule breaking elsewhere there are processes you can follow to report transgressions to Admin.   The same processes which were followed by people here..... and which brought this board some greater scrutiny.
