Thats what I have around here, and lots of more or less straight hwy to the North, South & East.

I used to love riding through the woods on the CR 125 & 250 but I dont want to be all off road like that now.

More than answers it!

I doubt I'd have a Monster either if I lived as you've described!

All the very best with the other things you've mentioned!
2001 Ducati  Monster 900S ie
JE high comp pistons, bit of porting, open airbox with DP filter, PC3 with custom map, CCW matched injectors, Termignoni cf slip ons, 14:39 gearing.

I used to really enjoy trail riding, on my trusty 76 XL 250! Good times for a youngin, living in the country. I'm decidedly an urbaner now!

Multistrada??

So... it's "dual sport" bike time then Mendo Dave.

More options than you can poke a stick at.  I went for the DR coz they're cheap, simple, relatively un-heavyish, and easy to fix when you bend things in the middle of nowhere.

Pretty much everything else has water cooling.... and that - for my needs - was a complication I could live without.

So with the shop closing.... are you dusting off the theodolite once more?

I think the Multi is a little big. I dont need all that on some road out in the middle of nowhere. Plus that ardvark nose...

The DR makes loads of sense. Its probably what I should get. But I probably wont.  ;D

I do look on bikesales  [laugh]

But never seen one for sale.  Just as well.

I toyed with the idea of building something like it..... starting with a Hyper like yours.....  and imagining what that would be like with a..... KTM 990 ADV front end.

But then sanity intervened.

He probably left in embarrassment as every single topic here was turned into a juvenile bunfight of drivel, which was then defended as being "uniquely Australian humour". Nothing unique or Australian about it drivel is just drivel.

Sorry to come in from the dead.To me it seems simple.Got a single cancer cell, infected a few others.Killed it off.Feels like a breath of fresh air already !

QuoteBut then sanity intervened.

Damn  stupid sanity, if it didn't intervene all the time I would own an S4RS.

S2R800,    0    , 750 GT, Rickman Honda, 450 'Silver Shotgun", 750 Sport, 250 Mark 3, Kwaka 500 triple.

I'm able to keep sanity at bay an alarming amount of the time.....  ;)

But a dirtised Hyper is one step beyond.  Even for me  ;D   Better off with something that somebody designed for the purpose in the first place.

Of course, that's no fun.....  and there's the rub  [laugh]

G'Day gino....

Hopefully the breath of fresh air can bring back "the dead"  ;)

And encourage newcomers too.

Let's try to move on.
