That is a nice visual memorial...

I look forward to seeing what they have done with the site. Sure it will be a lot different to when i saw it last...

I spent a few hours in my class 'A' today while we remembered.

As the dog and I drove down the street this morning we passed groups of school kids waiting for the bus. Those kids never lived this. Good for them I thought.

It's ingrained in my brain. Through some connections I was able to get right to ground zero. It took 5 days to get the taste out of my mouth.

I was stationed on the other side of the world that day. I had just rolled back into the barracks with a good buzz going and looking forward to sleeping in as I had been awarded a special liberty day( I had gotten a perfect score on my PRT). An hour later I was out in full gear throwing down road blocks not even thinking about the hangover, I just had that image in my head as I worked.

As a fireman, I live this event every day. It's not a once a year thing,...We think about it all the time, and it is a regular topic in the house.

For the past 13 year, I have involved myself 110% in any and all activities to commemorate this date. Class A uniform, Flags, pieces of the World Trade Centers,...everything.

Today I thought about the World Trade Centers, and the people who died. Not just the Jakes....but the everyday Jane and Joe who were at work that day, and the travelers on those planes.

But I took a different course this year.

I was not available. I stayed home. I worked on my house.

I will always remember. But I will not let anyone terrorize me to the point that it dictates how I live me life.

Thank you.

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.
