Okay, so there is this amazing thread that I have been watching for a long time on TOB, with lots of input from greenmonster, brad, syd, norm, etc. I thought I'd capture it for prosperity here. Anyone from the original thread want to share? I'm in the process of ordering a TCIP4 for myself and will be doc'ing the install and pics like the other mods I've done. I can't say a big enough thanks to green for bringing this to us and to all the others who have contributed to such an excellent thread! [drink]

Moto-One's nice writeup below as well:

Question for those of you that have this.  I just installed mine tonite and my bike has never started so well.  My problem is with the tach which is driven off the coil.  When I installed my tach i set it to count 1 spark as 1 revolution with the old ignition modules.  When I put this ignition in, the tach read twice as high but the motor still runs great.  I plan to run the tach off the new ign as soon as I find the right pin for the connector.  The only thing I can figure is that I have the revolutions without ignition set to 1 which could mean it is not sparking every revolution,  But the manual says this  "Revolutions without ignition - sets number of starting revolution without ignition"  Which I kind read like it doesn't spark on the first rev for starting reasons.  Is it infact only sparking every other rev?  that's all I can Figure because it runs so well.

Does anyone know where I can buy extra pins for this connector?

I would also like to thank Greenmonster & Brad Black for all the work they have put into this.  You guys have been a huge help to me getting this running.

GM If you read this what settings are you running now?  I'm curious because my setup is very similar to yours.

Thanks Again

the revolutions without spark thing is for starting - it's how many revolutions it does before it starts firing.  can be good to get them turning before they try to fire, especially with lots of comp, etc.

if you're running the tacho off the trigger signal to the coil then it should be the same.  mine was.  i tried using the inbuilt tacho drive feature for my dp tacho and it didn't work at all.  not sure why.

i think i'm using the amp weatherproof connector terminals we get from wurth - the female ones go straight into the big white connector - these ones http://www.wurth.com.au/catalogueview.asp?pdf=A02_0116.pdf

Thanks Brad.  I guess my question is do I need to worry about it, It runs great but I don't want ruin the module.  I can adjust the tach easily so that's not a real concern.  I just don't want to damage something else.

Most of us are still experimenting with these units, but they seem to be a great product. You can get the terminals from the ign guys directly. We make our own wiring harnesses here so I keep a pretty good stock of those connectors, if you have dificulty finding them, contact me & I'll get you one out.

If you set your tach up to run off the unit's tach output it's really easy to adjust.

Go to the Bike tab on the software and adjust to fit your tacho. There is pulse per revolution & % correction.

My latest maps are in my lap in the garage but basicly it is 30 fr 3k and 1 degree compensation every 1000RPM on as
Brad found. F e 35 at 8k RPM. Feels good, no new Dyno though.
