My monsters suspension is tuned, and the bike is totally set up for me and it is a joy to ride, BUT during my short test ride I instantly felt the handling improvement and raw, crap my pants power when I opened the throttle for a few short blasts!   :o

I went to my second track day last summer and I'm hooked. I was contemplating transforming my monster to more of a handler, but I have room in my budget and a space in my garage for a second bike!   :P. I can't stop thinking about that panigale!

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

I've only sat on one and I'd love to ride one, but haven't actively pursued it since A) I'd probably die, B) my license would probably be forfeit indefinitely, and C) I would need to buy one immediately thereafter, assuming A and B didn't transpire.

From the reviews I've seen, the 959 is not too shabby either. Not sure if my old ass could handle a sport bike as my daily commuter.

The bike was a 1299S. The entire time im thinking , " I love this bike and have to have one!" and " I will probably kill myself!"

This might be my best option, the 959's will arrive next month and I will demo one of those also!

The track day/ canyon riding bug has hit me late in life. My wife gave me the green light to do what ever makes me happy( I'm using my own money not hers) I have to admit this is probably the last attempt at fulfilling this urge for a sport bike as my beat up body and slowing down because I'm getting a little scared is beginning to kick in.

Go for it while you can. [thumbsup]
Track days and canyon riding also came to me in my 30s as did racing. I wish I had raced while younger, but at least I did it. I still do track days. It gives you a reason to keep in shape.

Forget the big panigales...  :o

A certain four time world super bike champion said to me as I helped unload the shops 899 demo from his van after a weekend track day at which he'd lapped within a second of the circuits record and I must add in sport mode that this little beauty is all that's needed... [bow_down]

Well as far as I'm concerned, enough said... [thumbsup]

They say you can live with a 40HP motorcycle, and you sure can.
But opening up with a 200HP bike is something that puts crack on the retard corner, as far as addiction goes  ;D

A big +1 to what Geoff said.

And if you want a track bike, there's lots of quick, good handling bikes that are *way* less expensive to buy, and *way* less expensive to crash.

I've been giving the Panigales a lot of thought for a long time. The 1299 was at the top of the list for the just sheer everything it has. I know the 959 would be even better for total usefulness. My old body can tolerate it but in the end I ended up with a 1290 SuperDuke R.  [evil] [evil] [evil]

Get the Panigale if you want the superbike ride!!  [thumbsup]  [Dolph]
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

I was hoping that you would have picked up DRKWNG's 990SD but you still did way good!  Of course now he may have to keep it a while longer.  [evil] [evil]

I can't own  a 990 superduke ,that thing is mental.

The 950 that I have ,I will be selling soon, great bike, just not really adjustable for me.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.
