I wouldn't expect him to be that fast, but he will steal the limelight from Jorghey and Rossi. Watch for a few bruised egos tomorrow.

But with a 2'02.1 Stoner put down in the private test would have placed him right behind Iannone. Can't really compare them due to different conditions but not bad at all with a probably dirty track and 2 years off the bike.

I'm thinking that this is Gigi's way of tempting him back onto the bike. Letting him see how he'd fare against the aliens on semi equal footing.

I'm thinking Gigi just wants more data, and it's more useful when it's from Stoner running in the exact same conditions as everyone else.

And if Stoner can spank the factory Y and H boys, then it's a bonus mindmake the beast with two backs.

I think given a few days, Stoner can be top Ducati, but I doubt he'll be Yamaha fast at the getgo. But seeing Stoner narrow the gap will definitely set the tongues waging and will definitely get under the skin of the "sensitive egos".
