I missed it first pass. I get the same info you do on the iPad.  ;)

Oh, and I really meant about the incident, the tire, and what not.

I don't think we'll ever see a lot about it. They can't withhold the soft tire forever though.

At the same time, they don't want to throw the new manufacturer of the spec tire under the bus even before the season begins.

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

I'm pretty impressed how well the Michelins have progressed from the previous tests. Times are getting close to Bstone times and the riders aren't saying the tires are dangerous, more that they just need to get used to them. Cept Baz.  I'd say Baz doesnt have the highest opinion of them right now.

That's one reason why you won't hear anything. It was either a faulty tire or a technician under inflating the tire. Either way it's all on Michelin.

Yep, imagine the fallout if someone finds that the Michelins are somehow defective.

I honestly suspect that the tire was way under inflated. Michelin's respond well to lower pressures to get better gip...to a point. kopf posted a pic that showed the rubber smeared across the surface of the tire. That isn't normal.

edit...after reading Speeddog's link about the tire the appearance isn't normal because all the top layer of rubber is gone. :o

Loris is a lucky boy.

Understatement of the year. He was going 180mph. Also lucky the bike didn't hit him.

Wasn't it Marquez that crashed there at 200?
