You'd be surprised the amount of movies that are 'classics' are actually remakes of either foreign films or very old films.

Oh no, I understand. But look, this is a classic American film that all of the original actors (sans Harold Ramis, RIP) are still around and for the most part, involved in entertainment. So why the "reboot"? Why the cliche of the all woman crew? I just don't get it...

And I won't be spending any money to watch it. I'd rather not have the confirmation that it's the abomination that I expect it to be.

Because there's a whole bunch of people, you've seen them, they're very young and they know jack shit about the original. So it'll be all new to them.
