;D

My best advice (other than to switch to apple) is if you find that you must upgrade at some point to windows 10, just buy a new machine from Dell. If it doesnt work then send it back. My experience with Dell is that they get the hardware & software to run right, most of the time.

That eliminates hours and hours of screwing around when you could be installing new security lights or something.
I will never switch to the other evil empire.

My Win 7 laptop is a Dell...thanks Ryan...I like it as is.

Older work laptop still running W7...nice... reliable.

Newer laptop running W10 (from new).... nicer... I do like the feel of W10.... but.... I'm getting sick of this shit at startup...

This isn't an Apple vs. Winblowz thread.

I only want to hear about how good...or bad Win 10 is.

Someone is bucking for a time out.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I will go lurk in the Ban yourself thread for a while.

I may have already said this?

Windows 7 was / is good (I use it at work.) 8, not so much (forced on me when I had to get a new computer.)  It wanted you to have the touch screen experience, even if you didn't have a touch screen. It also felt like Microsoft was experimenting with their own version apple's knowing better than the end user what they wanted / should have access to...

Windows 10 gave me back almost everything that I like about 7. The blocky, touch screen UI is still there, but it allows itself to be sidelined, if that is your choice.

To date, the only thing I am not completely happy about in 10 is start menu....and even that has not been bad enough for me to research into a possible work around.

I have an ASUS laptop that I upgraded to 10 (from 8.1). Now I have lost my multi-gesture functionality from my touchpad...

So, it took me 10 minutes? and I found and installed a program which gives me back my windows 7 start menu, as well as pushing Metro further into the background.
