If you're on a boat, in water, and you throw your suitcase overboard into the water, does the water level increase?

How big is the suitcase?
Does the suitcase float or sink?
If it floats what is the distance between the keel and waterline?
Does any water leak into the suitcase?

Get to work on the fairing stiffeners  ;)

i have had guys reach back and grab my crotch in an attempt to get around me. i'll either blow in their ear or ask them politely to let go of my wang.

I need to know at what speed and in which direction the boat sails.

Water level in which reference frame?

And like Howie said, does the suitcase float or sink?

No...

but the boat might now be able to take off due to reduced weight.

As long as the suitcase fits inside the boat, the water level should go down relative to a fixed frame of reference.  Why are you throwing a suitcase out of your boat?  Are you trying to dispose of a body or mutilated parts of a body?  Are G-men closing in on your discreet import business?  Hiding porn?

There's no way to work it out.

We better buy a boat.

We better burn a boat.

If the boat is on fire, that changes everything.
Especially if it catches the treadmill on fire.

That reminds me, why do people get so concerned about fire on their boat?
They're surrounded by water, what's the big deal?

How many suitcases would we have to toss to get rid of Florida?
