that would include no blinkers and relocation of license plate under the tail near the shock. he was also considering giving me one for my non-dot pipes..
That guy definitely had a chip on his shoulder.  Unless you were rude, which I doubt is the case, he just wanted to give it to you.

At the least non-moving violation is 0 points.

I got pulled over at 4:00AM one freezing (20F) morning doing 80 in a 55 and the first thing the cop said was "Thanks for stopping, most guys just gun it and I have to chase them down".  We then discussed how cold I must be and how much he likes Ducs, then he let me go with a warning ;D [leo]

Smart move! I got pulled over several years back, similar circumstances, and he also let me go with a warning.

Back when I was an idiot, I was speeding and wandering in my lane... aggressively... and he pulled me over.  I could have just lane split through traffic and he would have been stuck, but I stopped.

He came up to me, "What the hell were you doing?"
M"Yeah, sorry about that."
C"Got your license?"
...after coming from the cruiser and likely seeing my not short history..
C"Thanks for stopping, looks like its going to rain... You're not far from home so why don't you save that stuff for the track and get home before you get soaked?"
M"Thank you very much! I really appreciate it sir."

and let me off with that.  Very surprised.

... I'm totally cool with my friends saying "You remember when William bit it?!  That was awesome!  How do you explode in a fireball while being crushed under a waterfall?!  I don't think I'll beat that..."

I've definitely had my share of experiences with cops that will let you go with a warning but there are those who will get you for everything they can find no matter how compliant you are..

My first time riding Angeles Crest was with a bunch of people from the DML.  Four of us got pulled over at once for doing 10 over.  I've moved to San Diego since then, but in the three years I lived in LA I got 4 tickets up on Angeles Crest/Malibu.  You pay to play up in those hills...

how's San diego compared to angeles crest/malibu?

That sucks, but it's a numbers game, when your number comes up you gotta take it, specially at ACH with all the summer weekend crashes.  I've ridden ACH on and off for 8 years now and I've never gotten a ticket,   I know friends who have but like someone else said, you pay to play.

Once my ankle heals you should meet up with me and my buddy for our weekday runs, that place is a ghost town mid week.

I live in SC where most of the cops have nothing better to do than to harass.  In my town we have. or used to have, the most police per perrson on the east coast...  I have been pulled over myself 3 times  and god only knows how many times with my friends, and have NEVER been let go without a ticket.  I think age plays a HUGE role in their decisions, and me only being 23, I for sure get the short end of the stick... Last time I went to court to fight a ticket, the cop lied under oath on three instances and I called him on each one, where he would then re-tell his story to the judge.  Her mind was made up about me from the get go.  She got so irate with me that I had corrected him and stuck me with the full fine and all of the points...  Oh yeah the tickets amounted to 6 pts. and something around $450 FOUR DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS...
Turn it off man, turn it off!  It's sucking my will to live!

There was a recent push I think this past year to step up the patrols this in ACH and Malibu. It's worse in the boo, but I've counted 6 riders pulled over in one trip from Glendale to Palmdale. It's not too bad super early on the weekends, but I won't go later in the day. I've been looking elsewhere.

Best pull over ever: I'm on my way to work at 6 am south on the 405 in LA. I get lit up and pull right over. I'm bummed because I've never not gotten a ticket. I pull off the helmet so he can see the grey hairs and that I'm shivering (forgot my sweater and winter gloves). That's right, play the pity card. It was all I had. Then he said those words that made me smile, "You just pulled into that car pool lane and you were gone. Like a rocket." I was really smiling on the inside but figured better not do so on the outside. Then, wonder of wonders, he hands me my license back and says slow it down. A warning! When I put my helmet back on I heard angels singing.

Ha, officer Stout will ride the wheels off that thing. [moto]

He'll serve you the ticket no doubt, he usually camps out near the bottom. Even on the weekdays ya gotta be careful.

Well f@#$ my number came up today.  50 in a 35 zone...the kicker is I was a few blocks away from home.  I actually didn't see the cop until I passed him and saw the lights on my mirrors.  "Pay to play"....hopefully I can just pay the fine, pay for traffic school and call it a day.  [bang]

Not nearly as many as in LA, but still present.  Maybe it's because the areas I ride down here are less populated???
