I was out trying some new boots for my CRF and noticed that every boot I tried couldn't close over my calfs.  The straps wouldn't stay buckled (I have 18inch calfs)!!!! [bang]  Is there a way to extended these straps or will I have to get boots specialy made for my monster legs!

You can get longer straps for some boots...

What did you try?  some are just more narrow than others......It will prolly take a few sessionsof trying on boots to find some that work for you.

What kind of boots did you try on?  Some brands are a little narrower than others?  Are you wearing knee braces as well?  My brother has the same issue as you.  He found my old Alpinestar Tech 8's work a little better than the Gaerne Sg-10's that he has.  I have the Tech 10's and they are fairly adjustable.  You should be able to buy some bigger straps.  I would say just go to a dealer that has a pretty good selection of boots, and try them on and see what works best.

Looks like I'll be trying on some more boots!  If anything, I'll have to settle with a lower cut boot.

Thy the sidi crossfire-adjustable calves-they should be ideal for you.

there really aren't any lower cut boots worth a damn.

Every Alpinestar boot level fits differently, a does the sidi and every othe manufaacturere really.
Good luck and reaize that after squeezing your foot into about 3 pairs of boots thy will swell a bit and make the restof the tria session almost worthlss.

Has anyone tried using these while riding their monsters?  I love how MX boots look so wearing them on the street would be something I would do on occasions.

I would not consider them good street bike boots, for reasons that can only be described as "just don't work well". Nice boots though-def not cheap.
