Oil change kit?

Perhaps this is better suited for tech (forgive me if so mods) but I need/want to change the oil on my newly acquired '00 M750.

I've done this before on my Ducs (but not for years) and as such I need to acquire all the necessary items (typically I buy a few of each to account for future maintenance).

Does anyone have a recommened source for oil, filters, crusher washers? Would love to order and have delivered vs lug on my back from stealership (if they even have it).

Also, can someone please refesh my memory on size of filter wrench needed?

Thanks for your input! (and yes, I know I could scour the Internet for such info, but... isn't that why these forums exist?)

Oil I usually get by the case on Amazon -free shipping and a couple $'s/qt. less than local shops that only seem to stock 2 qts if they have any stock.

And I grab the K&N oil filters on ebay or Amazon.

Don't know a better/cheaper source for crush washers other than the dealer...

go with OEM on the oil filters.  K&N has been having issues since they moved factories.

Here's the thread about K&N oil filter issue.

If you are planning to buy the filter from online retailer, I'd suggest getting Hi-Flo with the nut on top instead of K&N.

Or Hiflo 153.  153 RC if you want the same 17mm. nut the K&N has on the bottom.

I had these same questions, so thanks all for the replies. However, I'm new here, so forgive my ignorance, but what's a "crusher washer," and where does it fit in this process? Do you guys replace the drain plug washer at each oil change?

I just watched this video, and he didn't mention it.

Mh- There's a thin aluminum "crush" washer under the drain plug, and one behind the head of the oil screen. They help make the seal. I usually sand them down smooth and reuse 1-2x before replacing them. It's prob best to replace them though.

If I have one I replace it, if not, no worries.
