While I'm still in the process of counting my lucky stars that my beautiful Tricolore #187 managed to come away from an incident with a Jeep Cherokee without a scratch, it seems that a friend of mine wasn't so lucky.  He's the proud owner of Tricolore #186 and had the misfortune of running out of road last Sunday.  The incident resulted in some scuffage to the tail section, a sheared right rearset, some gakage on the front wheel and other miscellaneous scruffage that'll (luckily) be covered by insurance and won't total the bike.  Amazingly the tank and radiator are undamaged.  But on the rider's side of the equation, he suffered a broken right wrist.  Here's hoping all mends well and he's back on the road soon.  In the meantime, let's all be careful out there and not wad any more of these lovely Monsters - or any other motorcycles for that matter!  And has anyone out there thought of doing a Tricolore registry so we can keep track of where all 400 of these beauties go?  Just a thought.  Okay, I'm rambling now so I'll blather on elsewhere.
If it's got two wheels and a motor, I like it!

FWIW, Modesto Ducati can get parts from Italy in about 3 days, which is the best I've found.

Amazingly, not a scratch on the tank or the radiator.  Unfortnately the service department thinks it might be tweaked, both in the swingarm area and the forks.  Further measuring is necessary, but hopefully he'll have it back on the road.  If not, there may be a salvage-titled Tricolore up for grabs soon if there's anyone out there looking to get a lusty bike at a deal.  Sure makes me glad mine didn't hit the deck.

It is just a paint job. . .

Anyways, glad to hear your friend is (fairly) okay.
