Found a company in the States called EFM Auto Clutch. Looks like they custom machine an auto clutch to suit whatever you ride. You ship them your clutch and they cad cam and build what it needs for the conversion and ship it back to you. Sounds great.
Anyone heard of or dealt with these guys?

There was one used for sale a while back in the UK - £355 used. (for older SBK, dry I assume)

AFAIK a sentrifugal system. EDIT: or maybe an over active 'slipper'...

Their stuff looks good, and the price is reasonable, for sure.

I would confirm with them whether the clutch stays engaged on closed throttle until it gets to the release rpm, or if it disengages as soon as you close the throttle.
Just something to then discuss with the customer, so they're fully informed on how it's going to behave.

If it's for your existing one-handed customer, I suspect as long as it operated in a predictable fashion, and didn't result in a badger springing out and clawing at his nuts, he'd be fine with it.

(Dunno if you have badgers in Oz. Back when I was working for Yamaha, one of the Japanese nationals described one of the american staff as a 'happy go lucky badger type guy'. When I recovered from the shock of that phrase, I explained to him that badgers here in the US were fearless psychotic buzzsaws that would happily attack nearly anything.)

if it works anythiung like a rekluse clutch, which is extremely popular in dirtbikes and also now availble for harleys, then they are GREAT. THeir version 3 really behaves like a normal clutch when you want to. but you sort of have to relearn how to rev and blip for power...something that isnt an issue on a street bike (you can only do so much with a thumper!)

I checked their site, but they don't list Ducati. EFM modify and add to your existing parts. There is the effort of shipping parts back and forth.

The guy could be from Wisconsin. 

We made an "auto clutch" for Ducati dry clutches when I worked at Sprintex / Vee Two.
Was a centrifical arrangement. Spun ball bearing out when revs came up. Worked ok but required regular cleaning with the dry clutches.
Thinking back... it may have been an EFM copy??

Anyhow they even made one for my bike (for me to test) with the gold anodised pressure plate! pretty sure I still have it at home...
