I like the drill bit already out and ready to go.

I once had the bit grab the flesh under the mail when it broke through and pull itself into my thumb. That shit hurt 10x worse than slamming my thumb in the door did in the first place.

Did you use a machine of some sort to run the drill bit or your fingers?

Free-handed a cordless drill.

In retrospect, I probably should've used a drill press.

I'm an advocate of drilling by hand. As in use your fingers to slowly spin the drill in a controlled manner.

Machine driven, I don't know.

You know how drills catch and shoot through sheet metal?
