Still suffering huge guilt over this.....

How was I to know that, trapped in the glove box, the poor bear would attempt to crawl out through the cabin air filter ducting??

Damn, I can't. The 18th is when my wife's grandson is getting married and I'd risk dying if I bailed.  :(
