This looks like a bored designers contraption of what a bike would look like if you mix and match different parts from different bikes.  In my mind, this is probably just as likely as the pics of the 2009 R1:

There was a thread on TOB when Duacti released the news. I can't find it right now on the web, I'm at work. It was a official Ducati statement though. Bear in mind they include the 1098s and the 1098r as different models so there is two the 696 and 848 were others. They are talking about a 1098 based naked(probably this from the look).

There have been several official statements. It's supposed to be 10 new models over the next two years ('09, '10). You guys seriously don't remember this?

I'll tell you what, google: ducati to release ten new models. I did and turned up a few results. It was stated by Domenicali several times, including in the desmoblog. Maybe it was TOB, but I know it was discussed ad nauseum on forums, with speculation about what they might be. (or I guess daydreaming :))
There have been countless "unofficial" rumors including the one posted here. Most of them just bad photoshop jobs. I'm predicting new SS, some sort of ST/multistrada redesign, and a Supermono revival. Those are my "official"  ;) predictions.  [bacon]

I would have been more impressed if they had kept the full trellis frame instead of the hybrid.

why is it that particular phrase is allways the left one?   I've never heard anyone offer up their right nut for anything.  Is the right side worth more, so it would have to be a really really cool bike to give it?
My right nut is more important. It's the one that dropped the most. Too much info? ;D

The supersports should and prob will always remain 2V (who needs a 4V motor on the street when the 2Vers now make 100+ hp). I look forward to a new 2V 1000-1100cc monster along the design lines of the new 696, but with more goodies.

HOW ABOUT AN UPDATED SUPERMONO ??? ...long overdue ! KTM is ruling that niche now I'd guess....

IMO, the design looks WAY too much like a Tuono to be a Duc.

... I´ve lost faith in Ducati. To me, the designs are starting to get a bit boring..

Are'nt you and Ewan supposed to be riding around antartica right now? [laugh]
