I am thinking of recoating my fork tubes & am looking at options.  The clearances make me think powder coating & paint are not a good option, that makes me think anodizing or cerakote are the way to go.  Does anyone have experience or advice?

Dirty Duc

A popular method a few years back was vinyl wrapping.

Outer legs I've done a bunch in hard black anodize; works great, no fade.

Hard anodizing needs to be done professionally at cold temps, correct?  If there are some light scratches on the forks will it show through, or will it fill in some?

Definitely not a DIY process.

The ones I did came out a nice satin black finish, it'll hide a little of the surface, but not a lot.

Hard coat anodizing is what you want.

Had mine done over 10 years ago and they still look great.

It won't fill in heavy scratches but being black in color it will hide them a bit.

The problem is finding a reputable place to do it.
