The secret weapon didn't make it to the track... so I rented an Austin America for my excess drivers.

Porsche won Organizer's Choice, dressed in yellow.

We raced the Porsche again at Buttonwillow last year, but didn't win anything.

This year at Inde, the secret weapon arrived:
The organizer's pics from the race:

The featured marque is Borgward, the model is Isabella Coupe, the highlights are rust and moss.

There was a giant snowstorm (for AZ) and it was way colder than I like, but we won IOE.

Couldn't have done it without my personal carb whisperer, my dad (he's the grey beard), and crew chief Joe (the other guy in the carb rebuilding part).

Teaming up with a bad influence again this weekend. Anybody in the vicinity of Topeka should come out to Heartland Motorsports Park and find the #RaceCamper. Ask around, and people will know where to find Spank and Tsoggy. I'm not distinctive enough for people to recognize me yet (I don't think).

I'm pretty sure we'll have bacon and (post-race) beer.

I saw the camper many times over that weekend from the seat of the green Supra:

Did we meet? We were baconing at people all weekend, including at the potluck... I can't take credit for the baconing, but it was tasty and team-related.

Also, I saw a great save from the Supra trooper driver on Sunday morning in the wet coming out of the carousel during what was our first stint.

No, sorry, we did not meet. I was one of 5 drivers so it could have been me in the morning. I think I have the bug now and will be doing it again with the car owners next year at some point. It was lots of fun.

So buttonwillow was a bust, but the party was awesome. We took the diesel 924.

Racecar wise, we didn't set the timing, we had a giant fuel leak which required removing the tank (and transaxle). When we eventually started doing the timing, it was time to support the party we had signed in for.

Sunday we went out and it was relatively immediately obvious that our suspicions of head warp and head gasket were correct. The motor (with fresh rings) started to "feel tight" so I parked it and waited for AAA.

Once back, it was obviously at least the head gasket, of which I hadn't (for the first time) brought a spare.

Unfortunately, we painted the car green for a theme. Too close to BRG...

Msr Houston: was supposed to be a build for a friend. But events transpired such that we couldn't get our act together.

Instead, I brought the aforementioned misbehaving Porsche. Still green.

The only thing it didn't leak (for sure) is brake fluid.

I was out first, to verify that things were copacetic... And someone tagged me on exit from a sharp couple of turns. Meh, blame to be shared, but when I showed up to the penalty box, the focus immediately shifted to the sheer volume of diesel sprayed around the car and in the driver's compartment.

Relatively epic for a running car without fuel lines in the driver's compartment.

It turned out we had (at least) 3 fuel leaks:
Fuel filler cap
Injector leak off line
Injector interface with head

We also had a GIANT oil leak from, it turns out, the valve cover gasket.
