Zarco should jump on it...it's not like anyone else is beating his door down, and he was comfortable on the Yamaha.

I don't, however, see him getting a factory seat before Fabio.

Interesting that Dorna would have the Thai race in March just prior to COTA, and Argentina.

That's a lot of logistics. :o

I understand that part.

It just seems that moving the show from one side of the globe to the other, and in both hemispheres, in three or four weeks time is ambitious.

Nakagami to get shoulder fixed now, missing the last three races.
Allows him the opportunity to have a healthier shoulder next season to fight the 2019 RCV nail he'll be riding.
Opens the door for Johann to audition for Jorge's seat.
I'm hoping Johann has a backup plan.

I'd have to agree. I don't see Johann jumping on the Honda and being fast, and I don't see Honda giving him a factory seat full time.

I think Jorge is burnt.
He wants to not end his career by getting hurt even worse on the RCV.
He wants that more than the money.
He'll tootle around in lastish place until HRC sends him home.

I don't see why Johann would consider riding the RCV.
Frankly I don't see why anyone would want to.
Maybe the Espargaro brothers would dig it.

Last years bike was a bit easier to ride, although less powerful. I say that very lightly.

I for one cannot wait to see what he can do on the Honda.

Last year’s bike was slightly easier to manage because Pedrosa was still giving some input. MM’s input is generally “forget about the handling, just make it go!”. Once Pedrosa left, there was no one to tell the engineers to tone it down. What you get is a bike that only one person can ride, which is great for that one person, no competition from any other Honda rider.

Honda factory money?

That would be a good reason.
Is there anything that suggests he's getting paid for these 3 races?

“While the LCR Honda substitute role is potentially a good chance for Zarco to recover some reputation after what has been a rather damaging episode for his career, the Honda is perhaps the closest relation to the KTM on the grid in terms of concept.

Then again, he will be riding the 2018 specification Honda RC213V, which has proven to be a more compliant machine than the 2019 bike in anyone but Marc Marquez’s hands.

Despite the call up, Zarco is not likely to be considered for a 2020 MotoGP ride with Honda.

Despite Nakagami’s LCR Honda seat being one of only two unconfirmed seats for 2020 â€" the other being Zarco’s vacated KTM ride â€" the Japanese rider is considered a shoo-in to retain his seat, with the delay to confirm instead revolving round whether gets a 2020 specification RC213V.“
