I found the male to female connector safety clip on this metric cruiser just hanging off the hose and not fitted when I serviced this bike. A shop had been in there for substantial work and left it off. Lucky the two little tangs held on for dear life. See the little blue plastic thing in the pic.

The two piece clip here. Glad the Ducati EFI fittings are more robust in comparison, so I'll not complain about them anymore.

This particular metric cruiser has an integral fuel filter within the fuel pump.  The system only has a gauze pick up which requires regular replacement to avoid clagging the expensive pump (which is not serviceable).

140,000kms later and the bike couldn't rev past half throttle. Amazing it ran.

I'm sure Carlos can beat this with a pic of a tarantula in a velocity stack.

No pic, but back in 2006 I walked out of Flight Cycles to meet a rider who had just pulled up only to see him pushing the front engine mounting bolt of his 00 M750 back through the case.   

“Yeah, it always does that.” He said.  I pulled the bike immediately onto a lift and proceeded to fix it.  Turns out the nut was being held in the frame by the rubber plug!  I made a customer that day.     I also added a few other fasteners to his bike before he left.
