I think this is due to the fact that most people think Ducatis cost a fortune.

agreed.  everyone seems disappointed when i tell them "just under 10k."
invariable i get an odd look and "wow.  i thought those were really expensive."

Personally, I'd love to hang out at Starbucks looking lost and sipping a hot drink on a HOTTER day [roll]

. ..But my local 'bucks doesnt have any room for me.....

too much : chrome, fringe, do-rag, flame and skull, tough-guy, lard-ass  for me to fit in.

Oh well, I'll knock down a ROCKSTAR and go for a ride [thumbsup]

OT

Paying $3-$5 for a cup of coffee is dumb.

In our fair city there are about 6 different sport bike groups that meet up at a Starbucks /  Jamba Juice smoothie place, so we have to go there. The local crowd is pretty low key. Their coffee is only about 15 to 20 cents more than the local Mickey D's and I'd say it's just that much better. No hate here.
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

The green logo on the cup would match the tricolor so nicely while parked up out front looking good.

...dont forget the gold crucifix+chain to match the ohlins :)

the bux near me only has fat harley dudes and 20 yr old sport bikers.  maybe an occasional bmw.  i rarely see another monster or even any ducati, period.

Starbucks sucks...sorry
If I want a sponsor it should be something decent like SegaFredo or Lavazza or something like that...people who know about real Espresso and Italian things in life [wine]

Condider this:

Ducati is in the top 10 of brands recognised (worldwide) as "cool"

The public perception of Ducati is of a top end and expensive motorcycle.

Starbucks is considered 'upmarket' (and expensive)

Starbucks has a large advertising budget.

Starbucks would get a lot of exposure if linked to Ducati.

Nobody does coffee (and motorcycles) better than Italians

I do take the monster up to Sbux frequently enough, but that's because my friends are still working as baristas, and I head up there to meet up with them.

Get free coffee while I'm there, so that's not bad.

Don't think I'd get Starbucks if I had to pay for it.

Starbucks sponsor Ducati?   ...the day that happens I suspect many Ducati owners will loose the cool and be categorized as metro-sexual bikers.   [wine]

hey, i never thought about it till now, but it is kind of the cafe racer tradition.

still don't dig starbucks, but racing from cafe to cafe seems pretty familiar.

Every time I've taken my Monster to Starbucks, I get a lot of dirty looks. Most of the greenies are riding their bikes for a latte and hanging out outside.  And the rest are always going through the drive through to avoid personal contact with anyone.
So, the greenies are giving me the dirty looks for being loud and the non-greenies just don't care or are probably Harley fans.

At least that was in Colorado. I just moved to Nashville over the weekend, and we will see how that changes.

This reminds me of something I've been wondering about. Are the stereotype of Ducati owners considered to be snobs? I frequent another motorcycle forum where many of the members think that most Ducati owners are snobby.  :(

What bullshit! That's why I only hang out on Ducati sites. Fellow Ducati riders know just how special we all are. We don't have to smell the proles.
