And in case it's not abundantly clear I don't know what the make the beast with two backs I'm doing....this paint job I managed to

Run the sealer.
Have to force dry the sealer, sand it, and respray that part.

Then I ran the colour coat.
Also force dried, sanded, and resprayed.

I ran the respray.
So again, dried, sanded, and resprayed.

During the second coat of basecoat the gun just....did it's best Peter North impression and started spewing white shit everywhere into the blue paint. Apparently my air drying system needs to be drained more often.

Keep in mind that almost every step of the above srewups involved a frantic call to Nate.

"What'd you make the beast with two backs up now?"  [laugh]

If Dave has learned anything through this project...

it's why painters all drink...sometimes heavily. [evil]

Everyone thinks it's easy, it's just a little paint, but there are so many things that can go wrong it's inevitable that something will.

I used to work for a guy that liked to say...'It's not the make the beast with two backsup that matters...it's the recovery.

On one trip to my place for hands on lessons I showed Dave exactly how something could go wrong, and one method of bailing out. If you didn't see it happen you wouldn't believe it.  [laugh]

I believe you.
Local painter in my home town did show quality work, but couldn't paint shit when sober. Prepayment was bourbon, etc to steady his hand. ;)
