Hey folks,
Sorry I have been out of touch but things have been a little crazy lately.
Actually, things have been crazy since the beginning of the year, but they really ramped up lately.

Anywho, before I digress, the info that concerns ya'll.
A couple weeks ago I was offered and accepted a new position at the company I work for. There are several catches to this but it is a no brainer great deal. One catch is I have to come up to speed on a lot of shite in hurry. Mostly OJT but I also have some courses scheduled. Basically I have to totally geek out again. I had let my computer guruness slide during years of other duties and hobbies. Plus I just really prefer to "work on" gear, no matter what it is, rather than "reason with it" ala software command line/GUI. Now I need to get back on that horse and ride it for all it's worth.
I am also now salary - exempt, so I am trully their pregnant dog. I won't be making much more money even though the increase was decent. I have to commute more days a week now as a Mon-Fri regular Joe so that hits the wallet hard with my 90 mile round trip. And of course all that OT went ba-bye. Still, for the position I am moving into I should be looking at some decent increases at my yearly reviews for the next couple years. They are training me into a very marketable position, so I can't imagine they won't be providing incentive to keep me here.

This, falling on the heels on my recent successful refi to pay off debt, means my new years resolution of "shite or get off the pot" concerning my situation since returning to Texas is definitely being handled.

The bad news for LSD. I haven't had a chance to brew since this job situation became official. I don't know what I might have time to do between now and the run. I know we talked about pre-funding batches this time, but frankly I am not going to be that organized by then. I hope to get some batches done, and provide them for the fall run, but I can't promise anything ATM. After time I need to handle cash flow. My house is apparently taking this opportunity to complain of neglect. I think it wants to lock down any increase of funds I might have for it's on purposes. Likely do to jealousy concerning the bike. My roof is suggesting it will start leaking if I don't buy it a new outfit, and my AC chose this almost record high week to become fickle about doing its simple job of keeping my humble abode at a livable temperature.

I wasn't going to ride during the Fall run anyway do to my legal issues in Bandera County over the last run. But I am going to have to play things by ear completely now. I still pretty sure I will have some beer available, since that's what I do and all. Come the Spring Run though, WATCH OUT. IT WILL BE ON!

My yearly holy pilgrimage to Denver for the G.A.B.F looks to be canceled as well. I have a class that week. And I already bought my tickets, including the members only session.  :'(

Have fun out there!

Respectfully,
J "The Dude" Murduc.

Jason, congrats on the new position! [thumbsup]

No worries on the Fall HC trip man, I'm sure we have a few clever people that can scrounge up some beer.  We do know a few people that work over at MillerCoors ;)

Congrats on all your well earned good fortune.

We can always bring down a couple store bought kegs of quality brew. You shouldn't worry about it this trip. Just come relax and get away from
everything

Jason,

Congrats on the new gig!
Don't sweat the small stuff  -there'll be other trips fo-sho.

Life is a balance of wants and needs.
It takes a wise person to know the difference.
-And a strong one to balance them.
(Damn, I just thought of that one... Pretty witty, Huh?!   ;D )

But yeah, don't worry...  That's not what this is about.

This is BULLSH1T.  Don't come unless you are brining copious amounts of delicious home-brew.

I am not kidding.  Ok, I am kidding.  Love to hear about the new gig, man, and that you are returning to the tech-weenie fold.  See you in the HC, drinking other people's beer ;)

also, my A/C went out this week also :(

+1 I'm certain there will still be beer, from somewhere (definitely inferior to yours)--never exactly a problem finding the stuff.  [drink]

Good luck with the new gig and congrat's. Now mark your calendar for the HC trip.  [thumbsup]

We have an extra bike! - R1...caution - you may be the fastest out there though, unless Brian brings the Gixxer!  ;D

Thanks muchly. :) It's not the bike I lack though.
I just don't want to roll the dice with the local po-po till my double secret probation ends.  :P

So far it still looks like I'll make the festivities. Like I said, if I do make it I'll run sweep in one of the trucks. That way should trouble occur we won't have to send anybody back this time.
Load up with ramps, tools, cooler, camera etc.
