I’ve recently been sorting out a mountain of parts I have and I’ve come across a set of cylinders and heads I can’t for the life of me remember where they came from! The cylinder measure 88mm which I believe make them 750cc.  Tony (aka Koko64) tells me they could also be from a 800cc engine!

The only other markings are a date stamp of 02 and the heads have S2 to the left of the cam cover.

Any ideas please? 750 or 800?

Cheers in advance  ;D

800 was an 03 model iirc, but were the barrels the same as the later 750? I don't know.

88mm and a date code of 2002 would make them either ‘02 750 heads, or ‘03 800 heads as you’ve mentioned.

Speed dog has this info.  If he doesn’t answer here, PM him.

Also: 695 shared the 88mm bore.

Heads can be ID'd by valve diameter, 800's are 43/38, 750's are 41/35.
Can double check by removing the cam endcap, 800's have O3X/V3X cams, and 750 have the venerable OR/VR.

88mm bore is 695, 750 or 800.
You can examine the bore surface, and if it's been run long enough, the wear marks in the bore may allow you to measure the stroke.
695 is 57.2mm, 750 is 61.5 and 800 is 66.
AFAIK, they all use the same cylinder.

The valves are 41/35 so guessing a 750.  Bore stroke is 66mm suggesting an 800!

The Cams have 2S* which is also stamped on the side of the head (Although I thought it was S2 the 2 is higher to the right the S lower to the left!)

Cams stamped O2S & V2S, and 41/35 makes me think they're 620 heads
