Hi. Thank you for the forum access. I am Mike from Minnesota and I recently bought my first street bike (04 Monster 620 ie)

I have been riding and racing offroad for most of my life. I have always preferred European bikes (ktm's in particular). It just seems like they have always been purpose built with attention to detail.  For whatever reason I just never had the itch to ride on the road.

Long story short for the last year or so I have been eyeing internet marketplace ads waiting for a good deal on one of the few bikes that I liked the looks and features of. Basically a Monster was always on the top of my list strictly based on looks alone because I never rode or threw a leg over anything.

Three weeks ago an ad pop'd up for a 2004 620 ie and the seller ended up being a relative of mine's long time friend so I pursued it, bought  it, and trying to learn how to ride the thing and do it justice!

Thanks again for access to what looks like a great forum, Mike

Welcome [beer]

Monsters are a special bike and Ducati a special marque.

I bet you could ride the wheels off a Hypermotard.

Welcome.

Try to find out the maintenance history of the bike, and do/have done what's necessary.

Belts on a Duc are a necessary item.
