So the answer is *no*.

I was always under the impression that the plumber's tape and deck screws were installed to hold the bones in a proper fixed position until they had healed.

Marc seems to think his humerus was replaced with a 100% functional part or the repair was totally complete and normal service would resume after they stitched him up.

The story is that MM bent the plate in his arm by opening a big sliding glass door after walking the dogs.

And that the doctors never told them the plate might be damaged by riding.
