Yamaha should promote Franco and bring up some a Moto2 guy to the Petronas seat. Aprilia then has a choice between MV and Dovi

I think he's hoping to be the old mentor in his team but if he's too slow he might run it. He did say he thought it would be difficult to get a ride.

I kinda knew some of this, but learned an immense amount from https://motomatters.com/analysis/2021/06/29/maverick_vi_ales_wild_weird_weekend_and.html In particular, his analysis of why Quantararo was able to set up passing opportunities that Viñales found "impossible" on the Yamaha opened my eyes.

I wish Maverick all the best with Aprilia if that's where he lands, though I find it hard to imagine he'll find that bike and the factory's ability to respond quickly to his feedback more to his liking. But for a real shitshow, play out what it would look like if the alternative speculations that put him on the seat of a Ducati with the VR46 team come true...
