Trawling through the net looking for stuff for the Monster (Of course ;D)
Having a look at the CarpiMoto site and find a bellypan for 83eu($140AUS) shit methinks , thats not a bad price for a gelcoat fibreglass unit!!! [thumbsup]
Then I ask for a postage and nearly fell off the chair. They wanted 103eu ($173AU) to send the item to Australia.  :o

You gotta be shitting me??? Has anyone else dealt with this bunch of bandits or is this the norm from Europe??? >:(

When I got a set of Arrow pipes from the US for about $40US poatage this just seems waaaaaayyyy over the top!! [roll]

Within the EU it's very much cheaper - once outside, things seem to get way more "complicated". EU companies often use couriers (DHL, UPS aso) because they are competitive at higher volumes, once it's outside their home market prices go up, way up. Companies like CarpiMoto won't bother sending it by post or are prohibited from doing so by contract. CarpiMoto has never been good at doing business with a smile anyway - keep your distance IMO.

PS: I get smaller packages from the US to Norway (Europe) for $15. The other direction I pay $60. Lack of competition, that's why.

I've never really dealt with anyone sending out of Europe for that exact reason.
The UK seems to be okay and they are able to use post instead of courier systems.
But for us the US is the best place to buy.

Bought some stuff from Carbonworld in Germany last year and the deliver costs weren't too excessive (from memory). But a couple of months ago we got some stuff for the scooter from the UK and the postage was horrendous (I thought) and a real pain in the bum - in the end they told us it was cheaper to send three slightly smaller packages than one (relatively) small package, bloody ludicrous.

But no, haven't used CarpiMoto.
